It is cheap to live downtownA large part of the appeal of living downtown in metro Austin is the cheap rent.
The Austin-Travis County area has a total of 9,749 rental units, and this is a trend that will continue as Austin continues to grow.
With that said, downtown Austin is home to more than 50,000 renters, and rents are among the lowest in the state.
