Westin has secured a deal to lease a property in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as part of a $1 billion expansion project that will include a luxury hotel.
The development is the latest in a series of projects by the company to expand its footprint in Texas.

It will include 3,600 rooms, 1,400 of which will be available for business travelers.
The company will also expand its international offerings, including a boutique hotel in Dubai.
Westin’s plans for the hotel have been in the works for several years, and it announced the development in January.
The hotel is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to expand the footprint of its business operations.
It said it would also expand the hotel’s business offerings to include a “luxury” hotel in Singapore, a “hotel” in Dubai, and a luxury boutique hotel.
Westin said the hotel will feature more than 10,000 square feet of office space, a banquet room, a fitness center, a restaurant, a gym, and an indoor-outdoor pool.
It also plans to include restaurants and bars.
The hotel will be designed by architect Kiyosaki Architects, and is expected for completion in 2019.
The Westin Hotel in Dallas is the newest Westin expansion project.
The hotel is the company “largest project to date,” Westin said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to expand our footprint here in the Lone Star State,” the statement said.
