Posted May 14, 2018 16:30:33 The body of the body of a woman, who was allegedly gang-raped in Uttar Pradesh’s Dadri on Thursday night, was sent to the city for cremation.
Sources said that the body, which was sent on a train, was cremated at Bhopal’s Bawari Ghat.
The body was found with the help of locals in the Bawaris Nagar area on Thursday.
The incident happened in Dadri’s Ghat locality on Thursday evening after a woman was allegedly attacked by five men who allegedly raped her.
The accused, who were later identified as a gang of five men, fled from the spot and the body was sent for cremations.
The victim, who had sustained injuries to her head, arms and legs, was brought to the Ghat by the locals who found her body on Thursday afternoon.
She was identified as Ankit Bhat, aged 32, who worked as a domestic help for a family of five.
Police have arrested five accused and arrested the woman in connection with the incident.
An FIR was lodged against the five men and a case has been registered against them under various sections of the IPC, including rape, murder, attempted murder, cheating, robbery and cheating by false representations.
